The 738G is a small refresh of the Espio 738 from a year earlier. Same 38–105mm Pentax zoom, same programmed AE, same active-IR autofocus, same DX coding. The G adds a few small refinements over the original body — the rest of the camera is unchanged.

If you've handled a 738, you've handled this. The lens is the part that matters and it's the same lens — Pentax's mid-tier zoom that did most of what 90s travelers asked of it.
