Hahnemühle German Etching® 310gsm

Hahnemühle German Etching® 310gsm is not a photograph — it's a print in the traditional sense. A mould-made copperplate paper with a velvety, deeply textured surface, German Etching was designed for intaglio and etching reproduction, and the inkjet coating applied to it doesn't fight the texture — it works with it. Photographs printed here take on three-dimensionality, depth, and an art-object quality that no smooth paper can replicate.

At 310gsm and 100% alpha-cellulose, the construction is acid- and lignin-free with no optical brighteners, hitting 91.5% whiteness with a warm, slightly stone-like quality. The pronounced felt texture gives prints an extraordinary sense of depth and immersiveness — shadows appear to recede into the paper's surface rather than sitting on top of it. Calcium carbonate buffered to ISO 9706 standards, it's built for longevity.
