Based in Palestine
Moayed Abu Ammouna is a Palestinian refugee who was born, lives, and works in Gaza City. He holds a bachelor's degree in Media (Radio and Television) from Al-Aqsa University in Palestine.
Muayyad works as a visual artist and filmmaker, moving between experimental visual production, video art, and photography.
Through his work, he explores concepts related to land and borders, the inherited traumas experienced by generations after the Nakba, in addition to themes of displacement, human rights, and systems shaping the future and memory.
Moayed uses creative visual practices as a means to narrate personal and collective stories, and seeks to employ his experiences and personal tools to raise questions and create dialogue around the issues he faces, leading to broader reflections on dignity and justice, believing that art is a living awareness and a necessity for survival.
