Arnold Barretto was born in Mumbai, India (1996), and is now based in Dubai, UAE. He is an analog photographer, designer, printmaker, and book artist. He received a BFA in Studio Art with a concentration in Photography and Graphic Design from The State University of New York at Plattsburgh in 2019.
In his practice, he explores themes of identity, and desire, with a focus on that which is intimate and personal.
He served as the Art Director for DoNorth Magazine for two seasons and was the 2020 Production Work Scholar at the Aperture Foundation in New York City. His work is also in the Plattsburgh State Art Museum collection. He was currently a fellow in the 2023 cohort of the The Salama bint Hamdan Emerging Artists Fellowship (SEAF), UAE.
