Combined with photographs captured and compiled by photographer and long-time Dubai expat Jalal Abuthina, this book also features a historical introduction to the area by Professor Yasser El Sheshtawy of the Urban Research Lab, UAE University of Al Ain. "Memories of Satwa" includes rare images of residents and parts of Satwa that have been documented over the past decade, with some of the areas featured (such as parts of the Emirati neighbourhood of Al Shabia) now completely demolished.
