Location: Jubail Island, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
Adele Bea Cipste is a UAE-based visual artist working primarily in drawing and photography. Her artworks evolve from recollected experiences of being in particular environments, or from locations that attract her interest with their textural-architectural qualities and ambience. Her works invite a reflection on what forms a place, grapple with the untranslatability of one's recollected lived experience in relation to physical space, and contemplate her own position as an observer. Recently, she has been developing multiple new bodies of work evolving from specific sites within the UAE and the idiosyncrasies of the country’s physical environments. She holds a BA in Visual Arts and Film from NYU Abu Dhabi (2022), and has recently exhibited her work at Alserkal Avenue (with Engage101), Manarat Al Saadiyat, and Riga Photography Biennial (2023).
