Inhabiting Images

This event is now fully-booked.

Inhabiting Images is a series of discursive gatherings with and around images.

Taking a single image as a site of assembly, each session excavates the sprawling network of meanings, processes and infrastructures that go into the production of and encounter with images in the contemporary moment.

Led by Sabih Ahmed of Ishara Art Foundation, the program invites participants into an open discussion on selected artworks from Ishara Art Foundation’s ongoing exhibition Growing Like A Tree curated by Sohrab Hura. The first gathering around Inhabiting Images will be inaugurated in March during Alserkal's March Art Week, followed by a second and third one in April and May 2021, to be led in future sessions by guest artists and cultural practitioners.

This gathering encourages open input from the attending discussants. Share your questions, curiosities, and critical viewpoints with the group, and explore expanded discourses around images.

This event is free and by registration only through GPP or Alserkal Avenue on a first-come first-served basis. Any other entity that claims to provide third-party access to this event is not verified and unregistered attendees will not be able to join

Inhabiting Images is organized by Ishara Art Foundation in collaboration with GPP.
