GPP Talks with Alexandra Diez De Rivera

Born in Spain and raised in the UK, Alexandra Diez de Rivera is an artist that lives and works between Shanghai and Paris.  A graduate in Communication Design from Central Saint Martins College of Arts and Design (London) Rivera's background in graphic design and passion for photography merge into a talent for unique story telling through still images.

With her eclectic upbringing, spending eight years in Spain, fourteen in Britain, another six in France and four in China, Rivera has the ability to immerse herself into different cultures, appreciating the unique characteristics within individuals and embracing them through photographs.  The ability to speak fluent  English, French, Spanish, and improving Mandarin allows for a closer connection with her subject, no matter where they may come from!

Blurring the line between real and surreal, Rivera infuses the personality and lifestyle of the people she shoots into her final portraits.  Her portrait work has afforded her the opportunity to shoot families in Shanghai, Paris, Tokyo, London, New York, Hong Kong, and now Dubai!

Join us and find out more about Rivera's unique approach to family portraiture at 7pm on Monday, April 23 in Gulf Photo Plus, Alserkal Avenue, Al Quoz.
