Dress Code Abu Dhabi
'Dress Code Abu Dhabi Exhibition' presents together the pictures taken in Paris and Abu Dhabi. It is a unique opportunity to see what this dynamic and cosmopolitan generation looks like and to observe how personal styles may change at this sensitive age.
Don’t expect a fashion show; it is rather a demonstration of how clothes all around the world convey the personality and thoughts of those who wear them.
This exhibition highlights the many influences behind dress codes: geographic location, religious interpretation, ethnicity, climate, and of course fashion, while these young people proudly demonstrate that they go beyond standards and create a great world of new fashion options for themselves and others.
Stéphane Gizard is a French photographer well-known for his sensitive and heart-warming gaze on the troubled and fragile period of transition between adolescence and adulthood.
In 2006, the master photographer went out on the Parisian streets with his camera, picked out around 200 faces in the crowd and offered them a photo shoot.
First organized as an itinerant show in France, the resulting exhibition entitled 'Dress Code Paris' was staged in many cities worldwide. Six years later, Institut Français des Emirats Arabes Unis and Paris-Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi asked Stéphane Gizard to capture the youth from Abu Dhabi, the one strolling down the halls of Sorbonne Abu Dhabi campus.
