MAKING WAVES - NAVIGATORS OF HONG KONG CINEMA

Making Waves – Navigators of Hong Kong Cinema will celebrate Hong Kong's cinematic arts by showcasing an 8-film program at Cinema Akil and a GPP-produced exhibition of stills and behind-the-scenes images from Hong Kong cinema.

 

Dubai will be the 15th stop for the film festival after it has traveled to 14 cities worldwide and will feature the best of Hong Kong cinema in the presence of their filmmakers who will introduce the films and engage with the audience after their respective screenings.

 

Cinema lovers will also be able to appreciate the artistic creation of Hong Kong cinema through a specially curated photo exhibition in collaboration with Gulf Photo Plus. The exhibition, opening at 7:30 PM on December 9, at the Seeing Things Studio, Alserkal Avenue, will showcase the works of four renowned unit photographers, and will be open for the duration of the festival (December 9 – 14).

 

You will also get a chance to meet Quist Tsang, one of the 4 unit photographers whose work will be featured in the exhibition and who will be attending the opening to interact with visitors in-person.
