Join Creative Sultan Al Ramahi on a guided tour around some of Abu Dhabis most iconic spaces along Hamdan Street and into Madinat Zayed. With the bustle of downtown all around you, jump into the city's architectural history and built environment and delve into how it continues to affect us.
You will be prompteed to think about who the masterplanners were, What super blocks are, How municipal laws have shifted over the decades and why. You will be encouraged to embrace Abu Dhabi's largest block on the island, Stopping along the way to meet residents, workers, art and eateries within the Madinat Zayed Neighborhood.
The Superblock will be a main point of focus throughout the walk, as the neighborhood follows a typical "Superblock Plan". City Planning enthusiasts will relish in all of the details provided by the guide.
Learn more about how diverse the city center is while getting to know the history of how it has evolved over such a short period of time, and understand the importance of capturing a photograph that stays as true to the history and lived experiences at hand.
The goal of this tour is to show a side of Abu Dhabi that we often experience behind the wheel of a car, and to put the spotlight on the city's busy and dynamic street scene.
Participants will gather at the Warehouse 421 location and view the current exhibition for a few minutes before jumping on a bus to the starting point of the tour. It is important that all participants show up to the Mina Zayed location approximately 25 minutes before the start of the tour to make enough time for travel.
