Born in 1998, Lara is a self-taught freelance photographer based in Beirut. Focusing first on academia and earning a degree in Political Science, it wasn’t until much later that she considered photography in parallel to politics. She learned how to click a shutter during Lebanon’s October Revolution in 2019. Her project “Bless Your Beauty,” created with the Arab Documentary Photography Program is my first long-term documentary project and the starting point in my career as an image-maker. She aims to continue using photography as a way to interpret the world around her, both contextually and visually.
