After struggling to find meaningful work in his field of study Mohamed Alhamdan, a twenty-four year Saudi citizen with a university degree started sharing his daily dilemmas and frustrations around his search for employment on his Snapchat and Instagram feeds. His honest portrayal of everyday life and struggles as a young Saudi resonated with others in his situation, gaining him 3.8 million followers on his Instagram account and drawing in the attention of corporations and businesses eager to promote their brands among Saudi youth. Currently, Alhamdan financially relies on companies like McDonalds and Pepsi Middle East to offer him advertising deals to promote through his personal social media accounts.
