These sessions will be jam-packed with useful information that be of benefit and interest to all levels.
Photography - Beginner
No prior knowledge is assumed. You are a beginner photographer if you usually shoot in the ‘green’ or AUTOMATIC zone.
You would like to understand the basics of photography, get to know and learn how to use your essential camera features; aperture, shutter speed, ISO and others.
Processing - Beginner
You are familiar with general use of computers but no prior knowledge of this specific software is assumed. You would like to be introduced to what is possible with the basic use of this software and simple photo finishing techniques and tools as a starting point for a basic level of competency.
Photography - Confident Beginner
You are familiar with aperture, shutter, ISO and understand how these work together to create a correct exposure.
You shoot in Aperture or Shutter Priority modes and can use the basic features on your digital camera confidently
You would like more opportunities to practise and consolidate what you already know and also to stretch yourself a little further both creatively and technically.
Lighting - Confident Beginner
You are a very confident user of priority shooting and full manual modes for exposure control
You have no previous experience with lighting equipment. You would like to be introduced the basic lighting terms, concepts and equipment.
You would like more opportunities to practise and consolidate what you already know and also to stretch yourself a little further both creatively and technically.
Processing - Confident Beginner
You are familiar with aperture, shutter, ISO and understand how these work together to create a correct exposure. You shoot in Aperture or Shutter Priority modes and can use the basic features on your digital camera confidently.
You have a basic understanding of the basic image adjustment features of Photoshop and can apply basic enhancements to your work (i.e. saturation, contrast, brithness..etc).
You are looking to consolidate your understanding, increase your repertoire of tools and learn some more creative techniques.
Photography - Intermediate
You are a very confident user of priority shooting and full manual modes for exposure control. You want to expand your technical understanding, try new areas of photography and be challenged creatively.
Lighting - Intermediate
You are a very confident user of priority shooting modes and may even been using full manual exposure control.
You are familiar with simple lighting set ups and have had some hands on time with lighting equipment. You understand and can set up the different triggering systems.
You are aiming to consolidate your understanding and improve basic techniques as well as be introduced to some new ideas and techniques that will give you the confidence to experiment with different creative outcomes.
Processing - Intermediate
You have a good general understanding of the essential features of Photoshop or other photo finishing program and can apply basic finishes to your work. You have some understanding of the use of Bridge, Lightroom or Aperture and are looking to become more efficient and precise while increasing your repertoire of tools and expand your creative techniques.
Photography - Advanced
You are a very confident camera user. You may be a passionate amateur photographer, aspiring professional, photographer's assistant or professional aiming to sharpen your skills.
You want to be introduced to new techniques that challenge you both technically and creatively and have an opportunity to work with professional grade equipment. You are also interested in being introduced to the process of professional photography from planning to finished image.
Lighting - Advanced
You are a very confident camera user. You may be a passionate amateur photographer, aspiring professional, photographer's assistant or professional aiming to sharpen your skills.
You want to be introduced to new techniques that challenge you both technically and creatively and have an opportunity to work with professional grade equipment. You are also interested in being introduced to the process of professional photography from planning to finished image.
You are confident user of lighting set ups. You are aiming to improve your techniques as well as be introduced to some new ideas and creative approaches. You are interested in learning how a professional photographer uses lighting to solve problems and create the desired outcome.
Processing - Advanced
You have a thorough understanding of Photoshop. You may be a motivated amateur photographer or use Photoshop as part of your profession. You are looking to learn about advanced or little known features that can save you time and improve efficiency and creative outcomes.
Intermediate
You are a very confident user of priority shooting modes and may even been using full manual exposure control. You want to expand your technical understanding, try new areas of photography and be challenged creatively.
