Spark Session: Architectural Photography

Spark Session: Architectural Photography

Level: Photography - IntermediateMore info

This class is aimed at photographers who want to learn the art of capturing the light and lines of architecture. During the seminar-style session, architectural photographer Irfan Naqi will share his experience and insights, and explore the best practice for shooting architecture, as well as the use of Photoshop postproduction to convert a good picture into a great photograph. During the session, Irfan will work through his process and show you how he composes his frame before and after the postproduction.

The key topics covered in this session include: an overview of the key equipment used in architectural photography; constructing ‘reality’ and meaning in pictures; cropping and framing your subject and the importance of its context/surrounding landscape; conveying the character of a building by finding angles, understanding light sources, form and most importantly how vertical and horizontal lines meet each other; and balancing light when shooting interiors.
