What's Covered

With cars shooting past at up to 200 mph, photographers face a variety of challenges without a second to lose. This advanced workshop will ensure that when that moment arrives, you’re beyond ready to shoot one of photography’s most exciting subjects. In addition to adeptly capturing fast-moving cars, you’ll develop an editorial eye as you wield your lens to tell the stories of the drivers, the team, and the highs and lows of endurance racing. This workshop will also help you gain confidence to shoot wildlife, major events, and other sports involving a fast-paced environment.

  • Advanced techniques for portraying speed and motion
  • Optimizing environmental lighting conditions
  • Leading lines and maximizing a venue’s vantage points and angles
  • Editing to fulfill a client’s brief

We're very grateful for the opportunity that the promoters of the Gulf 12 Hours have provided us, and allowing us the most unique opportunity to shoot at this world-class race track.

who should attend

You must be confident shooting in manual mode. Participants who have completed both Photography Level 1 and Photography Level 2 will be most equipped to benefit from this workshop.

Adobe Lightroom will be used during the editing sessions of the workshop. If you wish to edit your images during the class, it is advisable that you have previous experience with Lightroom or have taken our Adobe Lightroom workshop previously.

This is a fast-paced workshop with an extended period of time spent walking around the track to find the best compositions and lighting conditions. In light of this, please note that you should be relatively fit and active, and you must be able to carry your gear with you for extended periods of time.

We strongly recommend you attend our Introduction to Motorsport Photography workshop, otherwise a portfolio submission will be required to gain entry to the advanced workshop. Your portfolio submission should demonstrate a full understanding of how shutter speed, aperture and ISO work together.
