Studio rental at GPP
Our new studio rental service is perfect if you’re a photographic artist or passionate hobbyist looking for a convenient, affordable option to execute your latest personal project. And if you’re completely new to the studio and need some help getting started, we have options for one-on-one tuition and advice too.
Studio set up
Our studio is just under 400 sq.ft., measuring 7m long and 5m wide. It has white painted floor and walls and a nice, double height ceiling with plenty of room for overhead lighting and an in-built infinity cyc wall that’s perfect for seamless shots.
Our studio comes equipped with a Profoto D1 Air 500W Studio Kit, which includes:
Lighting: 2 x Profoto D1 500W Monoblocs including Air Sync;
Modifiers: White, Silver Umbrellas and an additional softbox;
Grip: Lightstands;
Backgrounds: If white’s not your bag, we have a selection of seamless backgrounds you can choose from (black, grey and red); If you use backgrounds during your session, we just ask that you pay for what you use at the end of your session; this will be charged at 100dhs per 2m.
Extras: We have further equipment available for hire such as Profoto softboxes, 5' Octa, Beauty Dish and grids as well as Manfrotto Boom and Master Stands that can be hired at an additional cost. Please contact the GPP team for a full list of items.
Rental options
To start with, we would like to encourage beginner and intermediate photographers to hone their skills in studio lighting and photography. We will therefore keep the prices at a very reasonable level and and restrict the studio rental to folks who want to learn as well as those of you who want to do personal work.
We’ve devised a range of rental options so you can choose to have as little or as much time as you need to get the shot:
• Half Day 1-4 hours 495dhs
• Full Day 4-8 hours 695dhs
If you are part of a group who wish to hire the studio, please contact us for the group hire rate.
To keep things simple, all rentals are inclusive of equipment hire. With your studio rental, you’ll get the use of the equipment mentioned above.
You can rent the studio from 10am – 6pm, Sunday – Thursday.
New to studio lighting and need some help getting started?
Never stepped inside a studio before, but always wanted to? We can help you get started! Our instructor can take you through the basics of how the lighting equipment works, what different modifiers do, and some simple lighting set ups you can employ to achieve different effects.
At this stage we assume that you have a good working knowledge of your DSLR (aperture, shutter speed, ISO, etc) and that you are comfortable shooting in Manual mode – everything that’s covered in our Digital Photography – Level 1 and Level 2 workshops.
For one-to-one guidance from one of our instructors, just add 250dhs per hour to your studio rental (subject to a minimum booking of 2 hours). It’s okay to take a 2-hour tuition session and complete your half day/full day session solo, or if you want extra guidance and support during your first studio shoot, you can request an instructor for the full session (obviously, the longer your session the more in depth the information). If you are part of a small group who wish to learn studio light, please contact us for group tuition rates.

All bookings are subject to availability and it is essential that you book in advance of your planned shoot to secure the studio (please allow at least 7 days if you wish to book an instructor too).
Terms of use
What’s cool: Any GPP member can rent the studio for practice, personal or portfolio work. If you have no experience with studio lighting we ask that you book at least two hours with one of our instructors to make sure you’re comfortable with the equipment and get the most out of your session (note - the instructor won't take photos for you but will help you to set up and position the lights). If you book an unsupervised session and you don’t know how to use the studio equipment, we will ask you to reschedule an appointment with an instructor (you will still be charged for your initial rental).
Don’t be uncool: The studio is not available for commercial use, so if you’re a professional photographer and you’re looking for a location for a paid job, we ask that you rent a commercial studio (you’re welcome to rent our studio for your personal projects). The time slot that you book, is time you take - please ensure that you include ample time for setting when making your booking - if you arrive before your allotted time you will be asked to wait and if you overrun it you will incur a charge of 200dhs per hour.
Make full use of our equipment, but please don’t abuse it - love our equipment as if it was your own!
Rather than charge hefty ‘insurance charges’ we entrust our equipment to you for use during the session, and ask if you break it, you pay to fix or replace it (a 500dhs refundable deposit will be taken at the beginning of your session).
