So you've been shooting relentlessly to tell the story you're so passionate about and its time to actually tell it to the world. How do you want to do that? The key to creating a cohesive body of work is editing, the art of separating the weed from the chaffs and editing one's own work is one of the most grueling processes in producing & presenting a photo project.

In this 2-day workshop, David will help put you on the right track with this incredibly difficult process. Starting with the end in mind, i.e. the final medium you have in mind for your project (book, website, exhibition or other), you will learn how to make important decisions related to the number of pictures, which of them to include, in what sequence and how to structure them. 

Who should attend 
You are an advanced photographer with a photo project that is close to completion.

What to bring
Please come to class prepared to edit and having thought about your desired final medium: book, portfolio, website or exhibition. Please bring images that you are unsure of as well as your favorites. You should also bring any supporting materials, e.g. project background, artist statements, installation photos.. etc. Bring them on a thumb drive.

Cancellation & Exchange Policy:

  • Before Feb 15, 2013:
    • Exchange: You can exchange your workshop with another GPP2013 workshop subject to availability and it should be the same or a higher value. If the workshop you choose is of a lesser value, then you will only be entitled to 70% of the difference.
    • Refund: You can get a refund of 70% of the workshop value.
  • Between Feb 15 - 25, 2013:
    • Same as above, except you will get only 30% of the workshop value refunded to you.
  • After Feb 25, 2013:
    • Sorry, folks – no refund or exchange after this point.

Images

  • I accept that I can use the images I take during the workshops arranged by Gulf Photo Plus for my personal portfolio and NOT for commercial purposes without a signed model/location release.
  • I agree to provide all the photographs I take during the workshops to the GPP team member at the end of the workshop for:
    • Models, Make up artists and stylists to use in their portfolios and for personal promotional purposes (not commercial sale or use).
    • To Wardrobe providers to use to promote their provided collections
    • To locations to use in promoting their services & venues
    • To gpp to use to promote its services

Insurance Waiver

  • The organisers of Gulf Photo Plus are diligent in their delivery of a safe workshop and event experience. Organisers, instructors and supervisors of workshop venues (private and public) take all due care in arrangements of the workshops and to ensure the safety and wellbeing of registered Gulf Photo Plus participants, models and volunteers. Participants will be advised of any unusual health and safety requirements at the commencement of workshops and are expected to adhere to these rules.
  • Participation in the workshops is entirely at the participant’s own risk and any right to claim compensation for any accident, injury, loss or damage to self or equipment is waived. In particular participants accept full responsibility for their equipment against loss or theft, and acknowledge that they use the lighting equipment and travel provided by private buses to location shoots at their own risk.
    Students under the age of 18 will be required to bring a letter of consent from their parent/guardian to be presented at time of registration.
