Interiors Photography 101 (THRS)
Description
- Note - This class is limited to 12 students only
Interiors photographers shoot for real estate agents, hotels, interior designers, architects, builders, furniture makers, and more. Not only that, but the ability to light interior spaces will take your environmental portraiture to a whole new level, too.
Interiors photography blends studio techniques with location-specific problem solving, with a dash of compositional artistry thrown in for kicks. This workshop will introduce you to the basics of interiors/architectural photography, covering the basics like composition and exposure, and also lighting with small flash. We'll examine the space we're shooting, assess the light, and build a beautiful shot by working with the existing conditions and then adding our own light in ways that look completely natural.
We'll start out in the classroom, looking at examples of shots that work, and ones that don't. Then we'll head out on location. You'll learn how to scout, then plan and execute a shot. We'll look at ways to accomplish the shot quickly and easily, but then how to push past "good enough" and get to "Great". You'll learn how to problem solve in the field to avoid reflections, shadows, and other common issues.
