FotoWeekend 2012 is set to be our best yet, with GPP-favourite David Nightingale and four brand new guest instructors: Frank Doorhof, Brooke Shaden, Scott Hargis and Tony Corbell. We can't wait!
FW2012 promises a jam-packed schedule, with 16 workshops and other exciting events over the four-day event. Sadly, unless you have a cloning machine you can't attend every class, so you'll need to choose wisely. Here's an overview of what each of the instructors has to offer:
David has been a guest instructor at every GPP event for the last few years, and for good reason; his Photoshop expertise and has an uncanny ability to find great photos where most people can not. Join David as he shares his shooting and Photoshop secrets and give your portfolio a boost with stunning and dramatic images. This David will teach Landscape Photography, Shoot The CIty, and his brand new workshop The Art of Black & White Photography.
A relatively new kid on the block, Brooke is making big waves in the world of fine art photography and gaining a excellent reputation for her workshops. If you are keen to expand your portfolio with expressive and artistic portraits, Brooke's Storytelling & Compositing works
hop will put you on the right course. Delivered in two parts, Day 1 will focus on thecreative process, concept development and producing the raw image and Day 2 on editing and post processing.
Tony specializes in teaching lighting and portrait photography and will bring his signature simple but extremely effective teaching style to FotoWeekend. If you're starting out with studio portraiture, let Tony show you how with The Power of Light, then add drama to your portraits with Between Light and Shadow. Or try Controlling the Uncontrollable Light to learn how to create studio style portraits using the sun as your light source.
Scott is an extraordinary interiors and lifestyle photographer whose workshops are highly acclaimed. With the Region's real estate and tourism markets bouncing back it's a perfect time master professional interior photography and make a real name for yourself in this lucrative market. Learn from the best in the biz how to blend ambient and small flash light to create interior shots that stand out from the crowd. Intermediate photographers should take Interiors Photography 101, more advanced shooters can polish their craft with Interiors and Lifestyle Photography.
We've had a lot of requests from GPP'ers for Frank to come to Dubai, so we're thrilled to be hosting his workshops at FotoWeekend 2012. Frank will give a variety of workshops covering everything from small portable flashes to studio strobes, perfect if you want to learn how to light like pro in any circumstances with a focus on getting the final image right out of the camera – as he says, "Why fake it when you can create it?"
