FotoWeekend 2012 | November 7-10, 2012

GPP's fourth annual FotoWeekend event will take place between November 7th -10th. Think of it as a mini-GPP event that features 5 top photographers who will teach workshops and seminars in Dubai and as always, we will have a host of exciting events planned during the four-day event.

The full schedule of workshops will be released soon - keep checking the FotoWeekend page.

We're very excited to announce a very special line-up of photographers for this year's FotoWeekend that Doorhoffeatures some of the world's most exciting new and emerging talents; starting with Frank Doorhof who is a world renowned fashion and glamour photographer and has also been making waves with his impressive teaching skills. Born in Amsterdam, Frank specialises in teaching lighting and fashion workshops. For Frank, capturing the subject in his or her “style” is the most rewarding thing a photographer can do, where really capturing the character instead of just creating a “pretty” image takes priority. Take a look at some of Frank's instructional videos to get an idea of his teaching style and content:

1. Frank features in the TWIT photography video podcast talking about his style and his workshop, Why Fake It When You Can Create It?
2. The Grid Episode Featuring Frank Doorhof

bshadenAlso coming to Dubai in November is Brooke Shaden, a fine art photographer living and working in the Los Angeles area. Brooke is passionate about creating new worlds through photographs with her vision extending beyond the realm of the camera; creating images that resemble paintings and speak of an era that is not our own. Each image is a story. Inspite of her young age, Brooke has managed to cultivate a huge following and has taught many successful workshops around the world. Be prepared to be blown away when you see her work here. Truly remarkable work and we're really looking forward to having Brooke in Dubai.

Next up is Scott Hargis who is a San Francisco Bay Area based photographer specialising in interiors, architecture, lifestyle, advertising and real estate images. Scott is well known for his excellent e-book, The Essential Guide to Lighting Interiors which is a tremendous resource for anyone shooting interiors; both ambient and with small flashes.

Scott will be conducting interiors and architecture photography workshops which is timely considering that the Dubai Real Estate market is starting to bounce back and the demand for interior photography is set to grow again. See more of Scott's work here.

We're also pleased to introduce to Dubai GPPers, the excellent and renowned photographer, Tony Corbell.  Tony has been very fortunate having photographed three U.S. presidents, 185 World Leaders, 65 Nigerian Heads of State, about 600 brides and grooms, a couple of NASA astronauts and lots of famous and not so famous faces, since 1979. He has spoken at over 500 seminars and workshops nationally and internationally and is the recipient of the highest honor from Wedding and Portrait Photographers International with their Lifetime Achievement Award.

Tony specialises in teaching lighting and portrait photography and is highly regarded for his very simple but effective teaching style especially to do with the Quantity and Quality of Light. See Tony in action in this video below.

Completing the line-up is David Nightingale who has been coming out to Dubai to teach for GPP for many years and for good reason – the combination of his uncanny ability to find images where most people can't see them and his expertise in Photoshop to create stunning and dramatic images make him a crowd favorite. If you like landscape, night, and HDR photography, and want to know more about Photoshop enhancement then check out his website and see the images of Dubai that he has taken during workshops and his travels here.

David will be teaching several of his popular workshops including Shoot The City, Landscape, Creating Dramatic Images Workshops and more.

Save the dates: November 7-10th. The event will take place in Dubai at the Dubai Knowledge Village and as always, we'll be putting on a number of special events during the event.
